Have you always wanted to canoe on the Utukok River? Does your neighbor entice you with tales of backpacking in the Sadlerochit Mountains? Want your trip to just be you and your family? If you don’t see the trip of your dreams offered, ask us.

 

• Family Trips – If you want something “just the right speed” for your family, we will work with you to choose the right destination to suit your family.

• Rivers – If you have in mind a specific river or a mode of river travel we aren’t offering this year, we will work with you to choose the river and the mode of travel.

• Hiking and Backpacking – If you have in mind a specific route or objective we aren’t offering this year, we will work with you to get you there.

• Basecamp – Most areas we boat or backpack are perfectly suitable for a basecamp trip. Basecamps are typically the least expensive and the least rigorous – most relaxed! – way to experience the Arctic.

• Photography – If your highest priority is to get close to animals or wait for the perfect light, you may be better off experiencing the Arctic via a custom trip.

• Birding – Have you always wanted to see a Bristle-thighed Curlew?, Do you want to beat the brush looking for bluethroats? If you want to have some fun birding in the arctic, call us.

• Polar Bears – Polar bears, wolves and caribou are the Arctic’s definitive wildlife species.  We can arrange custom trips – of short or long duration – to view these spectacular species. 

 

Custom itineraries can work really well for families and for organized groups. We have arranged 60th birthday celebrations for old college buddies, and trips for organizations such as the Sierra Club and the Appalachian Mountain Club.

Custom trips can take many forms, from basecamping to backpacking to whitewater rafting or some combination of all of the above. We are pretty flexible by nature and will try to accommodate your needs and interests. We arrange custom trips all the time; don’t be afraid to ask!
